There is no known cure for eczema; however, there are several steps that you can take to control the frequency of the outbreaks.

Stress is often a cause of eczema outbreaks. You should try to maintain a low stress level. This may sound difficult too many however if you take the steps to control your stress you will be able to better control your eczema. Controlling your stress also has many other health benefits as well. A great way to help alleviate and control stress is to implement yoga and meditation into your life.

One step that is important in controlling your eczema is eliminating any foods that cause outbreaks. This can be a long and grueling process but well worth the effort. In order to do this you simply need to systematically eliminate foods one at a time for about a week. If you find your eczema has improved with this elimination you avoid that food. If there is no improvement simply move on to the next food.

Another step you should take to control your eczema is taking a shower opposed to a bath. If you must take a bath make sure to avoid bath additives; such as, bubble bath and bath salts that contain perfumes and chemicals. Instead use a natural oatmeal based product. You should also limit the time you spend in the tub and avoid using hot water.
